Guaranteed transfer for teachers working remote
After three years of employment in a remote location, classroom teachers are eligible to apply for a guaranteed transfer to Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine or Alice Springs. Eligible teachers nominate location and teaching preferences as part of their application.
Applications for guaranteed transfers occur once per year.
Transfers between government schools
Existing classroom teachers can apply for transfers between government schools by applying for classroom teacher positions advertised on the Northern Territory Government jobs site, or by expressing interest directly to individual schools.
Transfers may be ongoing or fixed-term depending on the needs of the school. The transfer of existing teachers is facilitated by agreement between the current and future principals.
